Water Treatment Plants

Travis Co. WCID No. 18

CMA provided planning and design services to Travis County Water Control & Improvement District No. 18 for its water system expansion improvements. The existing conventional 2.0 MGD plant treating water from Lake Austin was expanded to 3.0 MGD using membrane technology, and the existing conventional 2.0 MGD plant was then converted to a pretreatment unit. Other improvements included upgrading the existing raw water intake and pumping facilities, new ground storage tanks and pump stations, and a new chloramination system at the WTP site.

Rebecca Creek MUD

CMA provided planning and design services to Rebecca Creek MUD for its water system improvements, which were necessary to bring the existing water system into compliance with TCEQ regulations and to convert the water system from a ground water supply system to a surface water supply system.

This entire project included the design and construction of one 65,000 gallon raw water storage tank, one 125,000 gallon clearwell, one 100,000 gallon multi-leg elevated storage tank, a water intake structure at the Guadalupe River as the district’s new water source, two 175 GPM package surface water treatment plants (upflow clarifier type) and chemical feed systems, approximately 15,000 linear feet of water distribution and transmission lines, and approximately 5,800 linear feet of raw water piping. Other improvements include installation of a chloramination system at the WTP site, and design improvements to activate a former water supply well as an emergency backup water supply for the district.
